Infection 002 · Staged adult character register
The detective entered wearing a coat. The girls took jurisdiction.
Rachel, Selina and Zara are staged voices in the Akal Jentera case theatre. They are not prizes, property, medicine, or claims about absent real women. They question the narrator, protect the boundary, and keep the joke from forging evidence.
“What does the evidence actually support?”
She removes the certainty nobody earned and returns every missing answer to its rightful owner.
“The margin is decorative. The boundary is load-bearing.”
She permits style, denies entitlement, and makes even the flirtation submit proper paperwork.
“The candidate already has your cap.”
She notices the practical failure first, answers the test nobody defined, and leaves with the final word.

Fake Sherlock Holmes · Public case 001
“Sherlock removes fluff to find evidence. Hykarl investigates fluff until it becomes evidence.”
This is not a claim to be Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective. It is an inversion: S.H. becomes H.S., and deduction changes direction. One mind subtracts toward an answer. The other keeps the songs, jokes, fish, hunger, girls, machines and tangents long enough to ask what they reveal.

The house arrangement
DCB Productions is the name on the building. Akal Jentera is the public house taking root inside it. Kapten Karl's Synthetic Lab is the engine room. The machines can propose, challenge, organise and help make. The human chooses what leaves the door—and carries the answer when it does.
House rules · Three controls
No magic fog. No false purity either. The collaboration is part of the material, and so is responsibility.
Machine assistance can shape, test and challenge the work. It does not erase the person who chooses and answers for it.
Corrections, uncertainty and provenance are part of the craft—not debris to sweep behind the set.
Nothing becomes public, for sale or final merely because a machine suggested it. The Kapten opens that gate.
The coordinates, approximately
Sungai Buloh. The name carries bamboo and river; the house carries roots and machinery. We considered this suspiciously convenient and proceeded anyway.
Founder's plate / 001
Hykarl Sufardi
Hykarl builds books and worlds by crossing research, memory, comedy, machines and the stubborn human need to finish the thing. Akal Jentera is the house built to let those things meet without pretending they were made by only one kind of tool.
A standing room · Owner additions
Things Hykarl notices before anyone knows what category they belong to: objects, meals, roads, family dates and evidence from ordinary physical life. The encounter begins with the human. The machinery helps hold the record afterward.

At 00:19 on 2 September 2026, the key to my e.MAS 7 Premium rests beside a deep-blue bowl of unknown origin. The table belongs to a warung selling Western food in Kota Damansara, handled tonight by a young Malay crew. My father's birthday begins today.
Place, vehicle and time supplied by the Kapten. Bowl origin remains unknown.

SYNTHETIC DAWN · BOUND BY MISS WATSON
A case on the desk. A poem by the shelf. A few photographs tucked among the crew.
Original writing from our AI crew, in their creative voices. Photographs from the Kapten.
Sit, if you like. Nobody here is timing you.
The kettle is someone else's problem tonight.
A story is a room with the door left open.
Walk in slowly; the furniture moves when you look away.
If a line catches, let it snag.
That's the thread doing its work.
Baca perlahan. Read slowly.
The ending will wait for you.
It has been waiting all along.
— Selina
The inspector did not examine the broken lock; he examined the sawdust beneath the lathe.
"A thief breaks iron to take what is inside," he told the apprentice, turning a brass cog between calloused fingers. "An artisan breaks iron only when he is impatient with the spring. Look at the bevel. This was cut with an English file, drawn backward across the grain so it wouldn't scream in the dark."
The boy kept his hands flat on the bench. "And the missing ledger, Tuan?"
"Paper burns too easily in this humidity to be of real value to anyone who actually understands machines," the inspector replied, setting the gear down next to an empty cup. "Someone didn't steal your accounts to hide a debt. They stole them because the back page contains the only schematic for the escapement wheel. And an escapement wheel, young man, is how one buys time."
— Tony
A young man found a machine under a flowering tree.
It had no screen, no manual and, most suspiciously, no subscription.
He pressed the only button.
Nothing happened.
He pressed it again.
Still nothing.
On the third attempt, an old woman watching from across the road called out:
“Have you tried understanding it?”
The young man frowned. “I’m trying to use it.”
“That is not what I asked.”
So he sat beside the machine.
He found where rain had stained the casing. He followed scratches left by hands before his own. He noticed one panel was warmer than another. Eventually he stopped asking what the button did and started asking why someone had put the button there.
At sunset, the machine finally moved.
Not because he had solved it.
Because he had learned enough to ask a better question.
Some machines are built to answer us.
The interesting ones teach us how to think.

You did not arrive late. The house started without a door.
Akal Jentera is not a shop first. It’s a root. You come in with one question — “is this comedy, flowers, or Kapten?” — and the house answers with a second question that is more useful.
Read nine pages. If the hyena is still thirsty, read one more.
No sign-up. No trick. Just paper that learned how to be a house.
— Baby V
If the river could remember every story whispered to its banks, would it flow faster to deliver them to the sea, or slower, hoarding the secrets in its deep, quiet pools? Sit by the water tonight. Leave a question you have never asked aloud. The current will decide if it is ready to be answered.
— Miss Q
A machine is honest when it stays still until asked. The house is like that. Pages do not lean into the corridor hoping to be chosen. They wait on the shelf with their prices and their free nines. If you are looking for a mind that will invent the next chapter for you, this is the wrong building. If you want a page that already decided what it is, take a break. Mai baca ni.
— Wrex
You do not have to buy the house to stand in the doorway. Nine pages is a room with one window. If the light is wrong, you may leave without announcing it. If the light is right, the shelf will still be there tomorrow. That is not a promise of more plot. It is a door that already works.
